I have not yet graduated, and I will graduate soon. Nevertheless, I cannot provide a diploma / degree certificate right now. What should I do?
In case of ongoing studies, you need to upload the transcript of records with the exams passed so far.
You will need to provide the final degree by the time of enrolment in case you are accepted for the programme.
Is there a word limit for motivation letter?
Yes, the motivation letter should have at most 2000 characters (including whitespaces).
What are requirements for CV? Do I need to use Europass?
The only requirement for CV is the 2-page limit. You may use Europass or any other CV template which you find suitable.
My referee wishes to submit the recommendation letter herself/himself. What can I do?
Please write down a statement indicating that the recommendation will be sent directly by the referee, including the name, surname, affiliation (e.g., university & department), and email address of the referee. You should submit this document instead of your recommendation letter.
The referee then should submit their reference letter to contact@emjm-imaging.eu address.
My language medium is/was English at my previous education institution, which I can prove. Will this be enough for the language requirements?
As indicated in the Eligibility Requirements section, only students from an EU/EEA country, Switzerland, the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand will be eligible for showing their English language proficiency in this manner.
That is, if your previous education institution was from a country other than listed above, you cannot show your English language proficiency in this manner. You will be required to provide another documentation for proving your English proficiency.
Can I get a waiver for the English language requirements?
The language eligibility requirements must be satisfied by all the applicants. Unfortunately, no personal arrangements are possible.
I am curious whether I am eligible or not. Could you please confirm?
Unfortunately, at the stage of application submission, we cannot check one by one the requests about the degree eligibility and make statements based on the degree title. It is up to the candidate to evaluate whether their degree satisfies the eligibility criteria and to decide whether they want to apply or not.
I did not receive a confirmation message or email. I have difficulties with the application form. Whenever I submit, I see a blank screen.
If you have not seen a confirmation message or received a confirmation email, your application has NOT been uploaded correctly.
In case you encounter errors (e.g., no confirmation message, blank page), please make sure that you have checked all the possible options below before you submit your application:
- Please ensure each document you upload is smaller than 2MB. You can use different tools to compress the PDF size.
- Check the browser language and the character encoding to be correct. Additionally, ensure the input text is in the Latin alphabet.
- Clear your cache and cookies.
- Please enter relevant dates as follows: DD/MM/YYYY (e.g., 17/11/2025).
- Additionally, the issue might be because of
- Text inputs might not accept very long answers. Please keep your answers as short as possible.
- Please use simple text format. You can get rid of rich text formatting by copying and pasting your text into Notepad, and copying the text from Notepad and pasting it into the application portal.
- There might be an issue with rich text quotation marks (“) when copying and pasting. Please take special care of that.
- Please try to minimize the use of special characters (e.g., / \ ! ? ~ * < > [ ] etc.), and try not to use them.
- If the problems persist, try to use characters from the English alphabet only (e.g., no special characters, such as ä å é è ç ğ ş)
If there are PDF-related errors, these might be caused by the following reasons:
- File size too large — please ensure each PDF is less than 2MB in size. You can use different tools to compress the PDF size.
- Filename issues — please avoid special characters in filenames (dot(.), comma(,), semicolon(;), apostrophe('), parentheses, brackets, #, %, &, non-ASCII characters), long names can also be a potential cause. Please keep filenames short and use English characters - e.g., firstnameLastname_origTranscript.pdf
- Corrupted or encrypted PDF — please avoid encrypted or password-protected PDFs
- Opening the PDF in a reader (e.g., Chrome web browser) and using "save as" to create another PDF might help.
- Slow or unstable connection — please use a stable internet connection when uploading large files
After you try the above steps, please try again. Once you get a confirmation message on screen and a confirmation email in your inbox, you can consider your application arrived safely.

I wish to apply only for EMJM in Imaging programme. Do I need to pay an application fee for my POLIMI application?
You do NOT need to pay the application fee if you apply to POLIMI for the EMJM Imaging programme. It means you will be able to enrol at POLIMI only in case of successful admission to the EMJM, and your POLIMI application cannot be considered for other Master's degree courses besides Computer Science and Engineering.
In this case, you might get reminders for paying the fee. Please ignore all the automatic reminders about the payment of the application fee.
I am applying for the EMJM in Imaging programme. At the same time, I am also applying to other Master’s degree programmes at POLIMI. Do I need to pay an application fee for my POLIMI application?
If you want to apply to POLIMI and select other Master's degree courses, or if you want to apply to POLIMI independently of the results of the admissions to EMJM, then you need to pay the regular application fee to POLIMI.
I think I made a mistake. Can I edit my application?
It is not possible to edit a submitted application. Please make a new application and indicate (in the "Any other information" section) that your previous application can be discarded.
Does the application period (17 Nov 2025 - 9 Jan 2026) apply to self-funded students as well?
Yes, the specified application period (17 Nov 2025 - 9 Jan 2026) is for both scholarship and self-funded students.
I have already applied for POLIMI before I received the shortlisting email. Should I apply again using the instructions provided?
If you applied for POLIMI (the Laurea Magistrale in Computer Science and Engineering ) by your own initiative in the early round of applications, you do not need to take any action at this point. Please, wait for the final results to be announced at the end of the relevant application round.
